Primary Purpose:
Prepare and/or oversee grant proposals for the district. Assist administrators to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate grant-funded programs. Coordinate the district in federal/state programs. Collaborate with district staff and outside personnel to formulate, develop, implement, and evaluate federal/state programs.

Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of trends, processes, and ethics in grant writing
Demonstrated skills in writing and editing
Ability to analyze complex information and synthesize into readable and persuasive written material
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
Ability to meet established deadlines
Experience:
Three years classroom teaching experience and/or grant writing experience
Two years grant composition experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Grant Preparation
- Write grant applications, cover correspondence, and other materials according to required format; grants include, but are not limited to: OEYP; Pre-K; Title I, Part A (NCLB); Title II, Part A (TPTR); State Compensatory Education.
- Prioritize tasks and meet all deadlines for preparation and submission of grant applications and grant-related reports.
- Obtain information, data, and application forms necessary to fulfill grant requirements.
- Review the Federal Register, Texas Register, professional journals, and other publications for the announcement of grants and other funding sources and disseminate to administrative staff.
- Oversee the district parent liaison and parent involvement activities to ensure compliance with Title I, Part A, parent involvement guidelines.
- Allocation of federal grant money for supplies/resources for campuses
Director Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of contracts/MOU’s with outside providers (OT, PT,VI, O&M, ABA, Private
Nurse, Runnin WJ Ranch, Riverview)
- Consultant for campuses regarding sped and 504 procedures, difficult situations, new referrals,
discipline, homebound, etc. - consult with school special education attorney when needed.

- Title 1: Submit the NCLB/ESSA Consolidated Grant, submit the NCLB/ESS Compliance
Report, reflect the 9 points of Title 1 program in campus and district plans, establish a Title 1
Advisory Committee (meets once per semester), program surveys, yearly parent meeting - Back
School, oversee the budget (somewhat), follow requirements of ESSA and let campuses know responsibilities under ESSA.
- LSSP Responsibilities: Psychological evaluations-include full cognitive, achievement,
emotional, and behavioral assessment., autism evaluations, counseling evaluations, functional
behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans, counseling services-currently see 18
students regularly, Riverview counseling program coordinator, fill in for Diagnosticians, conduct
IEP meetings for students I evaluate (initial placements), and Medicaid reimbursement for counseling and evaluations.
Technical Support
- Review guidelines for eligibility requirements, disseminate information, and explain grant
restrictions, regulations, priorities, and deadlines to administrators and staff.
- Provide technical assistance and staff training in the drafting of project proposals and reports,
including the writing and development of program goals and objectives, budget, and
interpretation of specifications for grant funding, including, but not limited to: special programs
and CTE programs.
- Assist with the evaluation and monitoring of grant-funded programs.
- Assist staff in maintaining data and writing periodic reports to comply with grant requirements.
Policy, Reports, and Law
- Maintain master files on grants, including a database to track and report all grant activities within
the district.
- Assist with monitoring grant-funded programs and their expenditures to ensure compliance with
regulations and guidelines.
- Provide business department with copies and work in a cooperative manner with business
Department to ensure all items are properly budgeted, allowed or planned for, and expenditure
reports are filed in a timely manner.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and
local board policy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with all administrators who oversee grants and/or campus principals on campuses
where grants are implemented. Supervise parent liaison activities. Supervise 21st Century Program staff.
- Trainer/Administrator of SuccessEd Program for the district-Program used for management of
ESL, 504, RTI and sped data.
- Trainer/Administrator of SHARS Medicaid program.
- Direct supervisor of Diagnosticians, Speech Therapists, and contract personnel (VI, PT, VI,
O&M, ABA, private nurse)
- Provide training/education for sped staff regarding IEP goal writing and IEP report cards.
- Provide training/education for all staff regarding accommodations/modifications.
- Consultation/guidance for Diagnosticians and speech therapists regarding evaluations and
Individual Education Plans.
- Provide support/problem solving/collaboration with special education teachers on each campus.
- Monitor the need for and make program changes due to ever changing needs (personnel,
classrooms, etc.)
